MALAYSIA AUTOSHOW 2025 LAUNCHES WITH ASEAN-WIDE VISION FOR MOBILITY INNOVATION
马来西亚最大规模汽车盛会Malaysia Autoshow 2025今日于沙登农业博览馆(MAEPS)举行开幕仪式。
SERDANG, 8 MAY 2025 – Malaysia Autoshow 2025 officially opened today, setting the stage for a new chapter in the country’s mobility narrative. With over 200 exhibitors, more than 500 vehicles on display, and a record number of electric vehicles (EVs) in both the passenger and two-wheeler segments, this year’s show cements its role as the region’s premier platform to explore the future of transportation.
Spanning 50,000 square metres, the Autoshow integrates the entire mobility value chain from OEMs and aftermarket suppliers to financial institutions and EV infrastructure providers under one roof. Organised by the Malaysia Automotive, Robotics and IoT Institute (MARii), this year’s event continues to build on its legacy of offering visitors a complete and immersive automotive experience, from car launches to hands-on test drive.

The launch was officiated by the Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI), YB Senator Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, who described the Autoshow as a strategic milestone in Malaysia’s journey to becoming a hub for sustainable, next-generation mobility.
“The resilience of Malaysia’s automotive sector hinges on deeper regional supply chain integration. By fostering complementary supply chains and developing markets within ASEAN, we can significantly boost production efficiency, reduce dependence on external markets, as well as build a more agile and robust automotive ecosystem. As Chair of ASEAN in 2025, Malaysia is proud to drive ASEAN’s e-mobility agenda. Malaysia’s strengths in this sector, combined with MAS 2025’s exciting showcase platform will help us position ourselves strongly as a hub for green and next-gen mobility solutions for the world,” said YB Senator Tengku Zafrul.
The Minister also emphasize that the Autoshow is deeply aligned with the National Automotive Policy (NAP) and the New Industrial Master Plan 2030 (NIMP 2030), supporting the national shift from traditional manufacturing to a high-value, innovation-led industrial base. It also complements the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR) in fostering clean energy adoption and reducing transport sector emissions.
More than just a static display, MAS 2025 is a dynamic space where consumers don’t just see what’s new, they get to feel it, drive it, and compare options across multiple segments in one place. Positioned as both a launchpad and testbed, Malaysia Autoshow 2025 sets the stage for more than 70 new model launches, including cars, motorcycles, EVs, and innovative mobility solutions.
The show also features a curated showcase of Cars of the Year, cutting-edge connected vehicle technologies, and the conclusion of the ASEAN Unity Drive 2025, a 9,000km regional convoy.
“The Autoshow is a key enabler in MARii’s mission to drive technology adoption, build industry capacity, and promote long-term sustainability,” said MARii CEO, Azrul Reza Aziz. “Here, visitors can immerse themselves in the full automotive ecosystem, from learning about cutting-edge technology to test driving and even purchasing vehicles on-site. It’s all part of our commitment to shifting the future of mobility.”
The Malaysia Autoshow 2025 is now officially recognised as the Largest Outdoor Obstacle Test Drive Zone at an Autoshow – 5.1 Kilometers of Purpose-Built Trail by the ASEAN Records and will feature an array of attractions and activities designed to engage and entertain attendees of all ages and interests. With 5 kilometres of purpose-built test tracks, the show delivers a hands-on experience where visitors can test over 100 vehicles from internal combustion engines to EVs, motorcycles, and off-road 4x4s across simulated real-world conditions.
With a Total Industry Volume (TIV) of 816,747 units in 2024, Malaysia currently ranks second in Southeast Asia and 23rd globally. The EV sector is rapidly gaining ground, with nearly 9,850 electric and hybrid vehicles sold in Q1 2025 alone.
Malaysia Autoshow 2025 is expected to draw over 250,000 visitors, including OEMs, component suppliers, industry leaders, and the public. For tickets and more information, visit www.autoshow.my or follow MAS2025 social media channels.
